Q. Do I have to bring jewellery I purchased from Rosendorff Diamonds?
A. Not at all. You're welcome to bring in gold jewellery purchased anywhere.

Q. What kind of gold can I bring in?
A. We accept all types of gold jewellery from 9ct and above – broken, outdated, or unworn. You’ll receive the full market spot price with no deductions.

Q.How do you determine if a piece is 9ct or 18ct?
A. Our team uses a professional in-house test to determine the purity of your gold. This includes visual hallmark inspection and an acid or XRF test to confirm the karat with accuracy.

Q. How do you calculate the gold value?
A. We use the live global gold spot price on the day of your appointment. The value is calculated based on the purity (carat) and weight of your gold. You’ll receive the full value with no fees or deductions – and we guarantee the highest rate.

Q. How long will it take for you to tell me the value?
A. In most cases, our expert team can appraise your gold and give you a value on the spot, during your appointment. If your piece requires further inspection (e.g. for set stones), it may take up to one business day.

Q. What if my jewellery has diamonds or gemstones in it?
A. Our jewellers will assess any stones in your piece. We can carefully remove them and either return them to you loose or reuse them in a new design.

Q. Will you reuse my original gold or diamonds?
A. Yes, if your jewellery holds sentimental value. We can reuse your original gold and diamonds, though please note it is more expensive as we must melt and refine your gold separately.

Q. Can I use my credit for a custom piece?
A. Absolutely. Your gold trade-in credit can be put towards any item in-store or can be used to create a bespoke design with our master jewellers.

Q. What if my gold is worth more than the item I choose?
A. If your gold value exceeds the item price, you can use the extra as store credit or receive the difference via bank transfer – with a limit of up to 20% of the value. For example, if your gold is valued at $5,000, we can refund up to $1,000, and the rest will be applied as store credit. We’ll explain your options in full before proceeding.

Q. What happens if I change my mind?
A. You'll receive a detailed quote before we begin. Once you approve and work begins, trade-ins are final.
